I just received confirmation today that my Beach Chic soldered glass necklace is going to be featured in the summer issue of Venus Zine! It will be part of their "DIY at Sea" feature. This is such a huge honor for me. I never dreamed that within a year of this "journey" that I would receive this kind of recognition. I am incredibly humbled by this opportunity. They will be sending me an issue when it comes out in June...I can't wait to see it!

I just completed this one of a kind charm bracelet that is convertible into a necklace. It is filled with fun and kitschy vintage brass charms...turnips, a ballet slipper, a clown, an ice cream cone, a four leaf clover, a pig, a palm tree, a dachshund, and a teady bear. For a touch of shine, I included charms made from clear vintage crystal beads. I love the way this ching-a-lings when you wear it!! It also easily changes into a funky charm necklace by attaching a rolo chain with lobster clasps. Fun, fun, fun!!

I had a couple bananas lying on the counter that were screaming out to be made into a scrumptious banana bread. I got out my trusty Fannie Farmer Cookbook and with a couple of modifications made this yummy banana nut bread. Yummy!! Here is the recipe I used:
3 ripe bananas, well mashed (I only had 2 so I added a half cup of applesauce)
2 eggs, well beaten
2 cups flour (I used whole wheat)
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (I used pecans and saved a few to sprinkle on top)
Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Enjoy!!

I love buying on Etsy almost as much as I love selling...ok, maybe more :) I had some Paypal cash burning a hole in my pocket so I decided to treat myself today. I just purchased this adorable clutch from ThePeach. It reminds me of the nesting doll I had as a child. This fabric is so adorable, it just puts a big smile on my face. I can't wait to get it!!

I'm always on the lookout for new ways to market my Etsy shop, so recently I decided to create a video for youtube. I took some of the still shots of my jewelry and edited them in Windows Movie Maker. I added one of my favorite songs by Sarah Vaughan titled "It Might as Well be Spring". Nothing fancy...pretty plain and simple, but maybe it will drive some extra traffic to my website. You can take a look at it here...
